Flashback to the last few days of school when our second learners walked the red carpet to get their personalized awards; such as bookworm award, caring friend award, and so many more. It was a beautiful time of celebration in the courtyard as a grade level.

Over the past two months, students at New Holland Elementary School have been learning the patriotic song "Oh, I Love America" by Teresa Jennings in preparation for America’s upcoming 250th birthday celebration. The Music teacher, Amber Hull, worked with the music teachers from our other two elementary schools so that students across the district could join together in learning the same song and celebrating this important milestone.

At our final assembly of the school year, the entire school came together dressed in their patriotic gear. A fifth-grade student band (and Mrs. Hull) then helped lead the entire school in singing “Oh, I Love America” from memory. It was a fun and memorable moment that showcased the enthusiasm of our students and the strong sense of community within our school as we celebrated this special birthday of our country.

First grade teachers had the learners “purchase” their spoon, bowl, scoops of ice cream, and toppings in a money real world application lesson mixed with an end of year celebration. There was wonderful money number talks among the learners. They had to identify the coins, totals, and make determinations about what they wished to purchase.
