Chapter One: Simplicity - Living from the Tree of Life

Surrendering to God’s redemptive love is an ongoing process. The duality within us creates a spiritual barrier, representing our free will and standing between us and divine connection. When we dismantle this illusion, life's profound questions find answers. This journey towards a Kainos (NEW) life isn't solitary; it’s a trinity of agape love and infinite wisdom. In our post-pandemic world, where global awakening has shaken many to their core, living an esoteric life is a radical yet necessary shift.

If a guilt-ridden, middle-aged, recovering pill addict, hovering mom, and anxious wife can find an intimate relationship with God, so can you. The first step? Ditch the labels. Here’s my story: One day, while journaling in prayer, I felt a clear prompting from the Lord to "shed."

Shed? Shed what? Shed your unbelief.

I envisioned a campfire surrounded by family and friends, each tossing pieces of paper inscribed with limiting beliefs into the flames. God revealed this as His fire of purity, consuming the lies inherited from the world’s adversary. First Peter 5:8 urges us to resist and stand firm in faith, much like Job’s friends who falsely accused him of wrongdoing against God as the source of his suffering. Humanity, too, faces an accuser, but we love because He first loved us. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, but we resist and stand firm in faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).

Understanding God's voice, discerning our identity, and detoxing from religious striving leads us to comprehend what Jesus meant by “it is finished.” This awareness frees us from wasting time on worry, doubt, and fear of the unknown.

Co-Creating with Christ

Are we co-creating with Christ or merely coexisting? True progress lies in embracing our imperfections. In Christ, there is no separation; we must unite in fellowship. The peace that surpasses all understanding is already within us, as the Life-Giver breathed His heart into us to share with the world. We are light dwellers and kingdom entrepreneurs, awakening to the truth of our redeemed identity. Innocence can be described as a new birth, but Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:3 that we didn’t begin in our mother’s womb. Paul didn’t use new birth rhetoric to convert people but spoke clearly of our union with Christ’s death and resurrection, leading many to believe (Acts 14:1). Even Peter referred to our new birth as the resurrection of Jesus from the dead (1 Peter 1:3). Paul asserts in Ephesians 2:5-6 that while we were dead in our sins, God made us alive together with Christ.

Cultural advice suggests taking breaks from social media and reconsidering separation from its toxic influence. Too many rural Christians feel unconnected, but Philippians 3:13, Jeremiah 33:14-16, and Acts 17 remind us of our unity. Truth becomes a reality when we awaken, breaking free from traditional constraints. United, we stand against power-driven vultures threatening our land, liberty, and happiness. We are not doomed to fail; the Spirit of God Almighty empowers us.

I used to treat God like a slot machine, offering prayers as coinage, expecting payouts of blessings. When outcomes didn’t meet expectations, I moved on or reacted in frustration, treating God as a last resort rather than the first. I prioritized everything—relationships, finances, career—over God. This toxic pattern seemed to work until middle age hit. Seeking God with all my heart became a mission, but in the process, I lost the spark many call the fire of God. Yet, it starts with a simple smile or a prayer from a friend.

Breaking free from societal pressures and religious rituals, we find our true identity in Christ. His transformative love heals us from the inside out, guiding us through life’s complexities with grace. Embrace this journey, shedding unbelief and embracing the unity and peace found in God’s redemptive love. Together, we co-create with Christ, embodying His love and sharing His light with the world.

The concept of "zoe life" is deeply rooted in several key biblical passages and theological ideas. Here's a more detailed exploration (the source comes from notes I took after interviewing Dr John Whithouse)

Eternal Life: One of the central aspects of "zoe life" is its eternal nature. In John 3:16, it is written, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (zoe)." This eternal life is not just about living forever but living in the presence of God, in a state of eternal joy and fulfillment.

Abundant Life: Jesus explicitly mentions the abundant life in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." This suggests that "zoe life" is not merely about quantity (eternity) but also about quality. It is a life enriched by God's love, peace, and purpose.

Spiritual Life: "Zoe" emphasizes a spiritual dimension of life that goes beyond physical or material existence. In John 6:63, Jesus says, "The Spirit gives life (zoe); the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life." This highlights that true life is imparted by the Holy Spirit and is deeply connected to the spiritual realm.

Union with Christ: "Zoe life" is fundamentally about being in union with Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, "I am the way and the truth and the life (zoe). No one comes to the Father except through me." This indicates that Jesus Himself is the source and embodiment of "zoe life." To experience this life, one must have a relationship with Him.

Transformation and Renewal: "Zoe life" involves a transformation of the believer's inner being. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This new creation is characterized by "zoe," a life renewed and restored by God's grace.

Participation in the Divine Nature: Peter writes about this in 2 Peter 1:4, "Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires." Participating in the divine nature means sharing in God's life ("zoe") and becoming more like Him in character and essence.

Fruitfulness: "Zoe life" results in a fruitful and productive life. In John 15:5, Jesus states, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." A life connected to Christ is marked by spiritual fruitfulness, impacting others and glorifying God.

In summary, "zoe life" in the Bible encompasses eternal, abundant, and spiritual life that is centered on a relationship with Jesus Christ. It signifies a transformative experience that leads to a deep, fulfilling, and purpose-driven existence, characterized by the presence and power of God in the believer's life.

How many of us have grown up hearing these words?

- You’re lazy.
- You're weird.
- You're messy.
- You're too hyper.
- You're too direct.
- You're too sensitive.
- You have so much potential – if only you tried harder.

These words may have made you feel inadequate and overwhelmed, a burden many of us have carried. For those who experience Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), especially those with ADHD, such words from parents, teachers, and peers can leave deep scars.

But today, let me share with you God's truth through Jesus Christ: these things are not true.

❤️ You’re not lazy.
❤️ You’re not weird.
❤️ You’re not too hyper.
❤️ You’re not too direct.
❤️ You’re not too sensitive.
❤️ And you are living up to your God-given potential.

Through a relationship with Jesus, you can find the strength to overcome the anxiety associated with ADHD. With His love and guidance, you can begin to see ADHD not as a disorder but as a unique superpower. Jesus can help you transform your perspective, showing you that what others may see as flaws are actually gifts that He has uniquely designed for you.

Let God's truth shape your self-talk, and release the old narrative. It no longer serves you. Embrace the new perspective that Jesus offers, and see yourself as He sees you: wonderfully made and full of purpose.
