Look at New Programs.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, AFS International representatives attended the official launch of the Global Network for Youth, where AFS has joined as an inaugural member. It is a co-led effort by the United Nations Youth Office and the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation (Misk Foundation), long-standing partners of our organization.

We are proud to be among global organizations who truly work together to expand young people’s access to opportunities, knowledge, skills, networks and global platforms; strengthen pathways for meaningful youth participation and leadership; and accelerate collective action on issues affecting young people.

The Network is anchored in the United Nations Youth Compass and it was first announced this August during the AFS Youth Assembly in Geneva.

Information to share on AFS scholarships for HS students to study abroad in the next year. Many deadlines are coming up soon.

Have a look at the many programs that AFS offers at afsusa.org/impact. This is our 80th year as a not-for-profit. AFS has placed 780 AFSers in the USA schools for this school year.
AFS needs volunteers in your area and hope your area students will apply for our many scholarships to study-abroad. The local team may be seen at afsusa.org/misstennky/ They range from summer, semester, year long and gap year.
Deadlines for applications for scholarships are coming up soon. The first is the YES one with a September 22nd deadline for applications. ( (afsusa.org/scholarships). There are also funds for students who may need financial assistance,
