As we enter into a new academic year, it is hard not to compare how our hopes for the Fall have changed over these scant few months. Where we hoped to find a return to ‘normalcy’ (if such a term still holds value), we now see ourselves caught in a series of crises. Distance learning has become a political platform. Our fellow international students are caught in economic and administrative nightmares. Adjunct lecturers are fighting for their occupational livelihoods. And our public institutions are operating on shoe-string budgets in preparation for likely economic devastation.

With schools across the country preparing for a tumultuous Fall semester, we at CUNY, the largest urban public education system in the U.S., understand the state of precarity that haunts our communities and how easily personal histories can be lost in times of crisis. The CUNY Distance Learning Archive ask you to join us in preserving these histories and contribute to our developing archive. If you have a personal learning narrative to be remembered, remnants of course development for the Fall to be cataloged, or even photos of your current home-office space to be recorded, we enthusiastically welcome your contribution at https://cdla.commons.gc.cuny.edu or through email at [email protected]. All submissions remain anonymous unless otherwise noted and may be removed from our archive at any time.
