TRYING TO INCREASE YOUR GENERAL TECHNICAL (GT) SCORE?

The Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) course provides Soldiers with instruction in English and math. The goal of the course is to improve job performance, prepare Soldiers for more advanced schooling, increase reenlistment options, and enhance trainability. In addition to the PEC courses, the DEARNG has its first course scheduled for September with the plan to host 2 every year! Talk to your Readiness NCO today to get your name on the roster.

The Peterson’s Online Academic Skills Course (OASC) is a virtual option Soldiers can use in conjunction with BSEP or by itself.

Are you looking to qualify for Officer Candidate School (OCS) or re-class your MOS to a different specialty? Your path starts with the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT)!

As a drilling Army National Guard Soldier, you can take the AFCT at no cost to raise your GT and Line Scores.
📝 How to apply:
Coordinate with your unit to obtain a DA Form 4187 (Request for Personnel Action)

Have your Unit Commander sign the form

Submit it to your state Education Services Officer (ESO) or Test Control Officer (TCO) to get scheduled

Just because it’s the summer doesn’t mean you can’t request your Federal Tuition Assistance! You can plan ahead and submit your requests up to 60 days before your class starts. ✅

Just remember the golden rule: everything must be submitted and approved at least 7 days before your class start date! You’ll want to give your supervisor/commander enough time to approve your request.
