🧶✨ It’s that time of year again! ✨🧶

Time to stock up on our baby YARN so we can get those tiny hats made, packed up, and ready to head to the hospitals for winter 💕

Sometimes Christmas looks a little different… and a whole lot stronger. 💚

In a room full of beeps and soft midnight light,
Lay a tiny green Grinch, oh so brave in his fight.
With wires and with tubes and a hat much too big,
He wasn’t stealing Christmas—he was holding on big.

The nurses were gentle, the doctors so kind,
Each heartbeat a blessing, each breath peace of mind.

This Grinch learned real fast in that quiet small place,

That love isn’t stolen—it’s found in each face.

For even the Grinch, with his small fragile start,
Felt hope grow much bigger than his itty-bitty heart.

And down in the NICU, where miracles start,
The Grinch found true Christmas… in love, faith, and heart.

Can we talk about the dads?

The dads who pace hospital hallways.
The dads who hold their partner up when she can barely stand.
The dads who sit by the incubator whispering prayers no one else hears.
The dads who work all day and then come spend the night in a chair just to be near their baby.

They may not always have the same words, but their hearts carry the same weight.

NICU dads matter too.

They are part of the healing.
Part of the strength.
Part of the story.

This NICU Awareness Month, let’s not forget them. Let’s be grateful for the fathers who quietly, fiercely fight for their babies too.

when you google the term “NICU”, it is described as an intensive care unit for premature and ill newborns.

but it’s so much more than that.

it’s a place where the walls hear more prayers than most churches.

it’s hearing an alarm from across the room and your heart drops even though you know it’s not your baby’s monitor.

it’s uncomfortable chairs and rocking your baby for hours.

it’s breaking down in front of complete strangers because you couldn’t hold it together any longer.

it’s being completely exhausted but still showing up for your baby anyway.

but it’s not all bad..

it’s walking in after a weight check and being told we’ve gained weight.

it’s watching miracles unfold right before your eyes.

it’s dancing inside when you go days without a bad day.

it’s making lasting friendships with other NICU parents and feeling so much joy when they get to take their babies home.

and it’s finally walking out of those doors for the last time with your baby.

the NICU is full of warriors. tiny fighters who weigh just a few pounds, yet carry the strength of giants.

so if you’ve never stepped foot into a NICU, i hope you’ll carry a little awareness with you this month.
for the babies who are fighting, for the parents who are praying, and for the staff who become family.

because the NICU isn’t just a place.
it’s a journey.
one that changes you forever.
