The College Run 🎓🏃🏻‍♀️❤️

Today’s run had a little extra meaning. We called it The College Run because we were wearing the colors of our kids’ schools, and carrying some very full mom hearts. 🥹

💙💛💚Bethany has two at Pitt and one at Franciscan.
💚🤍💙Romney has one at Slippery Rock and one at Kentucky.
♥️🖤♥️I have one at La Roche and one at Youngstown State.

So many miles, memories, moves, and new beginnings ahead. I hope each of our kids has the best year ever. Full of growth, friendships, adventures, and memories they’ll carry forever.

And Alexandra started this run with us… then went on to absolutely CRUSH 12 miles! 👏🏻🔥

Here’s to our kids chasing their dreams and to the moms cheering them on every step of the way. ❤️

Four early morning miles with these two. ❤️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

We got our run in before Romney headed to Kentucky to move her daughter Landry into school. 🎓💙 Later this week, Bethany has one more to move in, and then the upperclassmen head out. How is it already that time?!

After our run, I made a completely spontaneous decision to play pickleball. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Which, if you know me, is VERY uncharacteristic.

But apparently this sport has taken up permanent residence in my brain. It. Lives. Rent. Free. 😡🏓🤪

4 miles with Romney Anderton and Bethany Kwiat ♥️

Three moms getting our miles in while getting our kids ready for the college move-in season. 🎓

So much to do, so little time, and somehow a run together makes it all feel a little easier. Grateful for the miles, the friendship, and this season of life.

🎉Happy 46th Birthday, Romney!🎉

Today, we celebrated by running 4.6 miles…because what’s a birthday without a little sweat? 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃‍♀️💨 We finished off with an icy Labatt Blue Light Blueberry Shandy to toast to another year! 🍻🫐

Looking forward to many more running adventures together! Hopefully my legs will be able to keep up with those young legs! 😳

🏅 MEDAL MONDAY 🏅

Meet Anthony. 👏

At just 15 years old, this high school cross country & track athlete took on his first half marathon at the Akron Goodyear Half Marathon, and absolutely crushed it. 🔥

⏱️ 1:36:15
🏃‍♂️ Started around 8:12/mi
⚡ Finished around 6:44/mi

But the most impressive part? He trusted the process.

Anthony stayed consistent through training, trusted the race-day plan, and resisted the urge to go out too fast. Then, when it was time to turn it up, he did just that. 💪

The result? A huge negative split and a finish that surpassed his goal. 🎯

This is what happens when you trust your training, stay patient, and execute the plan.

Proud of you, Anthony! 🏅🔥

🏅 MEDAL MONDAY 🏅

Sam. 15 years old. Second half marathon. MASSIVE PR. 🔥

A year ago, Sam ran his first half marathon in 1:50:55.

Fast forward one year to the Akron Goodyear Half Marathon…

⏱️ 1:34:04
🔥 16:51 PR
🏃‍♂️ Started around 8:12/mi
⚡ Finished around 6:24/mi

That’s not just a PR. That’s the result of a year of consistency, patience, and trusting the process.

Sam followed the race-day plan, stayed controlled early, and trusted that the work would pay off when it mattered most.

And it did. 👏

He executed beautifully and finished stronger than he started, proving that you don’t have to chase the race. You can let the race come to you.

So proud of you, Sam! What a year of growth. 🏅🔥

1:50:55 ➡️ 1:34:04

That’s what happens when you trust the plan, trust the process, and put in the work.

Six rainy miles ☔️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

My hamstring is still tightening up, so I’m going to see how it feels after the weekend and take it from there. For now, nothing fancy, just rainy miles logged. ✔️

Back to workouts! 🤪🏃🏻‍♀️

Joined Romney today for her over/under 1K workout:
• 0.75 mile warm-up
• 1K @ 8:15/mi
• 1K @ 7:45/mi
• 1K @ 8:15/mi
• 1K @ 7:45/mi
• Cool down to 4 miles

I wasn’t sure what to expect after deciding a beach sprint race against family members last week was a brilliant idea. 😅 My left hamstring has been a little grumpy ever since. It tightened up on every uphill today, but never enough to make me stop.

The last 1K definitely had me questioning my life choices, but I hung on and finished it. Sometimes the hardest part of a workout is trusting your body and pushing through when it’s just uncomfortable…not injured.

Overall, I’m happy with how this one felt. Strong, controlled, and another reminder that not every run has to feel perfect to be a good one. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Vacation mode: ✔️
Family time: ✔️
Beach competitions: ✔️😂

We spent the last week making memories at the beach… and, because it’s my family, turning just about everything into a competition. 😆 (pic #3 IYKYK🌊)

Today it was back to reality:
💪 Strength training
🏃‍♀️ An unplanned progression run (apparently I was still in competition mode 🤷‍♀️)
🏓 Pickleball this afternoon

The beach was fun, but there’s something about getting back to the routine that feels just as good. Now… who’s keeping score? 😉
