Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 School Year at HALS Academy!
Dear HALS Academy Families,
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to a new school year! Our halls have been far too quiet, and we are eager to see our students return to fill them with energy, curiosity, and growth. We are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for every child, and we look forward to partnering with you to make this year a fantastic success.
Daily Schedule & Arrival
Our official first day of school is tomorrow, August 31st.
To ensure a smooth and safe start for everyone, please take note of our daily morning routines:
Doors Open at 7:05 AM: Breakfast is served in the cafe until 7:20 AM. All students should enter through the cafe door between 7:05 AM and 7:25 AM. For the safety of our students, please do not drop them off before 7:05 AM, as supervision is not available until that time.
After-School & Dismissal: After-school programs run from 2:15 PM to 3:05 PM. For students taking transportation, the late bus typically arrives around 3:20 PM.
Important Times: Lunch is scheduled from 11:05 AM – 11:35 AM on regular days. On early dismissal days, school hours are 7:20 AM – 12:15 PM.
Policies & Expectations
We strive to maintain a focused and professional learning environment. Your support in reinforcing these policies is greatly appreciated:
Cell Phone Policy: HALS Academy is a "Cell Phone Free School." Phones must be turned off and stored in lockers or pencil cases from 7:20 AM – 2:15 PM. Visible phones will be kept in the main office until dismissal. Please note that after three confiscations, a parent or guardian will be required to pick up the device.
Uniforms & Dress Code: Our dress code includes collared shirts in blue, white, or red, paired with black, blue, or khaki pants. We ask that students refrain from wearing hoodies, baseball caps, winter hats, or sunglasses inside the building. While hoodies are allowed on designated dress-down days, they may not be worn on the head. Please feel free to purchase crewneck sweatshirts (solid color) or zip up fleece (solid color) for your student to wear instead of hoodies. It can get cold in the school with our AC in some areas and very warm in other areas like the music suite and gymnasium.
Attendance: Consistent attendance is vital for academic success and participation in school celebrations. Our team is always here to support families if attendance becomes a concern.
Required Supplies
To help your student stay organized and ready to learn, please ensure they have the following items:
Binder, agenda, and a soft pencil case.
Notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, and small sticky notes.
A combination lock for assigned locker.
Plug-in earbuds.
An assigned, fully charged Chromebook (required daily). We highly recommend Chromebook Insurance, which is available for $20.00.
