BIG shout to the Huron Township Fire Department for visiting The Hive yesterday and today!!!

All of our Bees 🐝 really enjoyed the time you spent with us. We learned and saw a LOT! The kids especially liked sitting on the truck!!!

You are every day heroes 🦸🏻‍♀️ 🦸🏼‍♂️ in our eyes,
and we are grateful for your dedication and service to our community!

Thank you 😊

Our play yard has provided many real life science opportunities… we have discovered toads and katydids and roly polies and butterflies and worms… today’s find was this beautiful Praying Mantis… she has or will likely form her foam egg mass (ootheca) that will remain all winter long where hundreds of teeny babies will emerge come spring.

Momma, sadly, will succumb to her end be it the cold weather or just natural causes once the eggs are laid.

Love the lessons the outdoors provides us (we left a few details out of our conversation 😉)

Munchy Mouth M made muffins and music and cookies for mice who like them with milk… magnets and measuring and mud pies and moons that were full of movement … it was a magnificent week of fun learning!

Well, we made it through our first week at The Hive@ by ourselves!

We’ve learned so much already…

By weeks end the Bumbles could decipher which word looked most like sock; used scissors and snipped scraps (lots of Ss in that); counted the number of words in a sentence (“School starts in September”); drew spiders and sunshines; made new friends; and celebrated my birthday (a day early)!!!

We feel happy that we’re on to some great fun learning!

When the parents of your students put great thought and effort into the class snacks 🥰
Super Socks S was excited- and today we had Super Snacks as well (shaped watermelon, cheese slices, crackers and muffins). We’re well fed at The Hive!
