My daughter is interested in learning to bake, so I guess we’re learning together! 🤣

She’s a gluten free gal, so we started with these gluten free apple cider donuts! 🍩

Oh my, what a treat! 🤤

Whether you’re already back in the classroom 🎒 or you have another month of summer break ☀️, it’s never too early to plan the systems you’ll implement in your math classes.

You probably have a system for how students turn in their work ✅, the flow of your class structure ✅, and note-taking during lessons ✅.

🤔 Do you have a plan for consistently improving students’ math skills?

Math Skill Drills take the guesswork out of improving remedial, foundational math skills. 💡

✅ When you work with a systematic plan, step-by-step, little-by-little, 1% at a time, progress is made.

❎ When you are inconsistent or playing whack-a-mole, addressing gaps haphazardly as they reveal themselves, it is much harder to see measurable improvements over time.

I’ve tried both ways.

And I’m sticking with Skill Drills from now on!

Math Skill Drills provide:

🚀 a proven system for addressing math skill gaps in a meaningful, purposeful way

🚀 clear, organized practice that promotes student independence and builds confidence

🚀 tools for teachers to save time, analyze math skill gaps easily, and adopt a set of classroom-proven resources

🚨 MATH MINDSET MATTERS! 🚨
Are your students saying “I’m just not a math person”? Time to flip the script. ✨

💡 Growth Mindset in Math Intervention isn’t just a buzzword — it’s the key to helping students believe they can do hard things. Here’s how to make it happen:

🌱 Share the Power of “YET”
“I’m not good at this... YET.” That tiny word builds BIG confidence.

📣 Set the Expectation
From day one, let students know: We work hard here, and we master skills together.

👀 Model Growth Mindset
Let them see YOU struggle and grow. Show them it’s okay not to have all the answers as long as you’re willing to learn.

👏 Praise Perseverance
Reward the grit, not just the grade. Math isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about solving real problems.

📊 Monitor Progress
Track growth visibly. Let students see their own improvement and build math confidence one win at a time.

💪 The goal? Progress over perfection.
✨ Math confidence grows when students feel empowered to try, fail, and try again.

⏳ Countdown to back to school!

Here in New Hampshire we are going back right after Labor Day this year. (This is extra late - even for us!)

I made this countdown for my own kiddos.

DIY Steps
1️⃣ Take a screenshot from your school website to find a photo of your school.

2️⃣ Drag and drop it in PowerPoint. (Size PowerPoint to 11” x 8.5”) Use PowerPoint tools to lighten it and remove color.

3️⃣ Insert a table with no background on top of the picture. We’re starting our countdown with 33 days to go so I used a 3 by 11 table.

4️⃣ Print and display where it can be seen daily.

5️⃣ Color in one rectangle per day to countdown to the first day of school!
