The toddlers today did a fun art project using a material we can find outside, Pinecones! Doing art that involves materials around us gives us a better understanding of our world. This is a great way for toddlers to explore the world around them and have fun while doing it. In this activity, they practiced their large and small motor skills by grabbing the pinecone and dipping it into paint before making the prints on the paper. This also brings a sense of science and creativity.

The children in Preschool B are learning about Ocean Life and the animals you can find living in the water. In centers today, the children did 2 different art activities; one was creating a jellyfish and the other was using a spike ball and pretend to make "puffer fish" prints. In the block area, the children made homes for the various animals and did such a great time working together as a team.

Our campers have been exploring the world around us, from Space in June, to the Earth in July and this month, The water around us. This week, they are reviewing parts of the world and exploring the different layers that make up the Earth. They are using sand to create layers like our Earth is made up of. How fun to bring science into the classroom in an exciting way!
