You may think you love God, even think you love your wife, but love it an action item, not a thought process. The bible says if you hate your brothers and sisters but say you love God you’re a liar. How much more does he expect us to love and care for our wives? Our wives are a reflection of God’s kindness toward us. They are flesh of our flesh and bone of our bone. If you can’t love her, you certainly can’t love God. Now, I’m not saying that to love God you have to be a perfect husband or father. No, not at all. What I’m saying is that your actions and your words have to line up. After all God told us that if we love him, we will keep his commandments. If you’re struggling in this area, invite God into your heart, your marriage, and be prepared to humble yourself as he shows you the things he desires to change within you. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.
