MSW students Gabe DeGraeve and Monica Bennett were named winners of the Tennessee National Association of Social Workers Day on the Hill Policy Analysis Contest. Their work focused on a current bill before the TN General Assembly addressing the impacts of period poverty.

We’re proud to see our students contributing thoughtful, policy-driven solutions that make a difference.

On March 14th, BUSOP Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO) Executive Team (Anna Flores, Christopher Quizhpe, Katherine Willis, John Rack) hosted the Inaugural Health Industry Conference at Belmont University!

Eighteen pharmaceutical industry representatives, from across the country, brought fellowship/industry opportunities to pharmacy students in Tennessee and surrounding states! With over 70 student attendees from Belmont University, South College, University of Tennessee, East Tennessee State University, Samford University and Lipscomb University, room capacity was reached!

The day began with an inspiring speech from our IPhO president, Anna Flores, and an overview of the pharmaceutical industry from the IPhO national representatives. The event then transitioned to various sessions in which each industry representative highlighted their program. After lunch, students had the opportunity to meet one on one with the presenters in a booth style setting.

Thank you to the industry representatives for participating in our event:

Alumna Donates 9,000 Pairs of Socks to Support Belmont’s Flourish Mobile Clinic 02/26/2026

Belmont alumna Sydnee Floyd came to Belmont as an honors student determined to keep her long-term nonprofit project, Jumbled Dreams, afloat while pursuing her degree. Years later, that determination — paired with close faculty mentorship in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences — has resulted in a donation of 9,000 pairs of socks to Belmont’s Flourish mobile clinic, serving Nashville’s most vulnerable neighbors.

Today was a powerful reminder that advocacy starts early. Dr. Lindsay Ison led the DPT 2nd Year cohort’s Day on the Hill, where students stepped into the policy arena with confidence and purpose. Joined by Dr. Suzanne Greenwalt and Dr. Gary Austin, the group met with Senator Bo Watson and APTA-TN leadership to share the voice of the profession. The students represented the School of Physical Therapy, the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, and Belmont University with professionalism, passion, and pride—showcasing the future of physical therapy in action.

Big news from the Belmont School of Occupational Therapy 🎉

Our MSOT Bridge Program is expanding its applicant pool. The MSOT program welcomes applicants from a variety of allied health–related fields, including those with foundational training closely aligned with occupational therapy.
Professionals such as physical therapist assistants, speech-language pathology assistants, music therapists, recreational therapists, and special educators typically meet criteria for review through our standard admissions process. Applicants from fields with less overlap in training may require additional review to determine readiness for the program.

If you’ve discovered OT and wondered if it could be your next step, we’d love to hear from you!
