Lipscomb University From The Air
Looking slightly Northwest, this aerial was shot on November 13th, 1933. The road running through the center of the frame is Granny White Pike. It is more than likely that this is the earliest aerial of the school in existence.

The SCC would like to highlight another one of our member schools...Nashville's very own Trevecca Nazarene University! Here are some fun facts about the school's background...
- The name Trevecca means House of Rebecca or "a binding together in love." Also, Trevecka is the name of a school, a castle, and a village in Wales. The school, established in 1768 by Lady Huntingdon, was an effort to “bring together” followers of John Calvin and John Wesley.
- In 1901, Trevecca’s founder, J. O. McClurkan, began teaching a small group of parishioners who wanted to be more effective Christian workers, which eventually evolved into Trevecca Nazarene University.
- Trevecca was originally located on what is now part of the Ryman Auditorium property in downtown Nashville...(where Johnny Cash would meet June Carter 40-something years later! :) ).
The SCC is proud to have you, Trevecca!!
