Dear Forge Community,

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has championed The Forge School’s mission and vision. Your belief in reimagining education—connecting students’ learning to purpose, community, and real-world opportunity—has been both humbling and inspiring.

Following the state’s denial of our charter appeal and the resulting lack of start-up funding, we have made the difficult decision not to reapply for the upcoming application cycle. At this time, our Board of Directors is exploring all available options for a path forward. While this pause is unexpected, we see it as an opportunity to reassess and reimagine what comes next. We will share updates on our website in the new year and we encourage you to check back for news about next steps and opportunities to stay involved..

We remain deeply grateful to every parent, educator, industry partner, and advocate who shared their expertise, resources, and encouragement along the way. Your support has shaped a powerful vision of what education can become when grounded in relevance, relationships, and purpose.

In a very close vote, the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission did not approve our application to open in 2026. While this outcome is disappointing, we are deeply encouraged by the commissioners who voted in support and by those who urged us to return in the next cycle.

We remain steadfast in our mission to build a school where students can be known, thrive, and discover their full potential through architecture, construction, and engineering. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be regrouping and mapping out our next steps—and we’ll share that plan with you soon.

This past week, our team had the privilege of spending time with our industry partners at EOA Architects. From touring their inspiring space to diving into their portfolio and daily practice, we gained a deeper understanding of the architectural world and the creative minds shaping it.
