Why Christian Prepping Isn’t Fear-Based—It’s Faith-Filled…

Meal Team Six?
All preppers have heard it. It’s funny. But a serious consideration is how we prepare for and manage in a disaster with less than perfect health.

Even if you would tweet it to meet your needs, this is a solid start.

"DEFINING YOUR PURPOSE: A CHRISTIAN PREPPER'S FOUNDATION"

The journey of preparedness begins not with stockpiling supplies or learning survival skills, but with understanding your deepest purpose. As Christians, our preparation must be rooted in biblical wisdom and divine guidance rather than worldly fear or paranoia. Scripture teaches us that prudent people foresee danger and take precautions (Proverbs 22:3), just as Joseph prepared Egypt for seven years of famine, and Noah built the ark before the first raindrop fell. These examples demonstrate that preparedness isn't about fear – it's about faithful stewardship and loving service to family and community.

Your unique calling in preparedness emerges from the intersection of your God-given abilities, life circumstances, and the specific concerns He's placed on your heart. Some are called to be community organizers, others to be teachers of essential skills, and still others to be quiet stockpilers of resources for future needs. Understanding your "why" helps align your preparedness journey with God's purpose for your life, transforming what could be a fear-driven obsession into a faith-driven mission. This understanding shapes not just what you prepare for, but how you prepare and who you prepare to help.

The process of discovering your preparedness purpose requires deep reflection and honest self-examination. Using the "Five Whys" technique, we'll dig beneath surface-level motivations to uncover the core purposes that should guide your preparation efforts. This isn't just about identifying what scenarios concern you – it's about understanding how God has uniquely positioned and equipped you to serve in times of crisis. When we align our preparedness efforts with biblical principles and our God-given purpose, we move from reactive stockpiling to proactive stewardship, from fear-based hoarding to faith-based helping, and from isolation to community resilience.

As we explore this journey together, we'll examine biblical examples of preparedness, consider how different spiritual gifts apply to preparation, and help you discover your unique role in building resilience in your family and community. Remember, true Christian preparedness isn't about surviving at all costs – it's about being ready to serve God's purposes in all circumstances, maintaining our witness even in crisis, and demonstrating Christ's love through practical readiness to help others.

The word is we should expect a significant freeze in the next week. Are you prepared? Do you know if your neighbors are prepared? What’s the right thing to do as a Christian prepper BEFORE an anticipated disaster?

Fellow Christian Preppers, a question I hear often and a topic that weighs on me is how we organize and govern in an area after a disaster. Whether it’s a local tornado, a massive hurricane (like WNC), or something more extensive that leaves us without the support of formal government, we must govern ourselves. What are your concerns on this topic?

Our Guild's Theme and Mission

🌊 The Story Behind Our Theme 🕯️

The Christian Preppers Guild has chosen "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning" as our theme song. This beloved hymn, written in the 1870s by Philip P. Bliss, was inspired by a sermon about a ship trying to find harbor in a storm.

The preacher spoke of how ships relied not just on the lighthouse's bright beacon, but also on the humble "lower lights" - the smaller lanterns maintained by everyday people along the shoreline. Without these faithful keepers of the lower lights, ships could miss the harbor's entrance and be lost.

This perfectly captures our mission at Christian Preppers Guild:
- We are called to be those faithful keepers of the lower lights
- Each family maintaining their preparedness is like keeping a lantern lit
- Our church communities serve as beacons of hope and safety
- Together, we help guide others to safe harbor in times of trouble

As preppers, we're not just storing supplies - we're keeping our lamps filled with oil, our wicks trimmed, and our lights burning bright. We're ready to help others find their way home when storms come.

Join us in being keepers of the lower lights. Together, we can shine hope into the darkness and guide others to safety. 🕯️
