Your unique calling in preparedness emerges from the intersection of your God-given abilities, life circumstances, and the specific concerns He's placed on your heart. Some are called to be community organizers, others to be teachers of essential skills, and still others to be quiet stockpilers of resources for future needs. Understanding your "why" helps align your preparedness journey with God's purpose for your life, transforming what could be a fear-driven obsession into a faith-driven mission. This understanding shapes not just what you prepare for, but how you prepare and who you prepare to help.

Using the "Five Whys" technique, we'll dig beneath surface-level motivations to uncover the core purposes that should guide your preparation efforts. The Christian Preppers Guild has chosen "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning" as our theme song. This beloved hymn, written in the 1870s by Philip P. Bliss, was inspired by a sermon about a ship trying to find harbor in a storm.

The preacher spoke of how ships relied not just on the lighthouse's bright beacon, but also on the humble "lower lights" - the smaller lanterns maintained by everyday people along the shoreline. Without these faithful keepers of the lower lights, ships could miss the harbor's entrance and be lost.

This perfectly captures our mission at Christian Preppers Guild:
