What if childcare could help keep teachers in the classroom? In Nashville, Little Wonders Early Learning Center is doing exactly that. Founded by Nashville public charter school leaders, Little Wonders operates childcare centers at STEM Preparatory Academy, Nashville Prep Charter School and Aventura Community School, giving educators access to affordable, high-quality childcare just steps from where they work.

For charter school teachers, the model can save $3,500-$4,500 a year and has helped educators remain in the profession they love.

It’s an innovative approach to two challenges families and schools are facing every day: access to childcare and teacher retention.

Known as the "Jackie Robinson of Journalism." Robert Churchwell Sr was the first Black journalist at The Nashville Banner. He spent years writing from his dining room table because he wasn't allowed in the all-white newsroom. He is a testament to the power of the "written word" and proved that your voice has the power to change the narrative.
