HFA senior Joseph Mammo shared powerful parting words with our community at this month’s Banquet.

As our student speaker and a National Debater of the Year Finalist, Joseph spoke about the power of debate for cultivating the voices of young people.

All proceeds benefit the Nashville Urban Debate League and help us bring free programming to MNPS students!

Last week, NUDL students DJ, Jasmine, Mousa, and Samuel represented Nashville at the Urban Debate National Championship in Cambridge, MA. After months of hard work and preparation, they competed on a national stage with skill and determination. We could not be more proud of them!

Thank you to and for hosting an incredible tournament and creating such a meaningful experience for our students. And thank you to the amazing coaches and teachers who make debate possible!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating our debaters, graduating seniors, coaches, board members, sponsors, and volunteers! We are so proud of everyone who has put their heart into debate this year and grateful for how much our community has grown.

We can’t wait to see you in the 2026-27 season!

Registration for the Nashville Summer Debate Institute is LIVE! 📣

NUDL’s summer camp is FREE to attend. It is open to rising 6-12th graders who will be enrolled in an MNPS or Davidson County public charter school in Fall of 2026.

Time: 9 am - 3 pm, Monday- Friday
