Tennessee State University is the first university in Middle Tennessee to graduate physical therapists. The Department of Physical Therapy offered the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) in the 1990s, the Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) in the early 2000s, and the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree since 2006.

That’s a wrap for the Spring 2026 semester! Before we all dive into our few weeks of break, we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Dr. Kymm Sherman Lee, PT, DPT, MSPT, CASI for sharing her time, knowledge, and of course, her amazing therapy dogs with our students - definitely the best (and fluffiest) guest lecturers we’ve had all semester!
