Before and After: another Buffet clarinet in for a COA and all the tenon corks to be replaced. A tip for all your band directors and reed players, the cork grease in the chap stick tube reacts with the glue we use for tenon corks. If you have had a cork peel off like tape before, there is a good chance the chapstick style cork grease is in the case. I have used the Schilke lanolin based slide grease in the round tub here in the shop for 30 years. It works great!

Before and After: An Altus in for a COA and a ripped pad replacement. The customer noticed that certain notes just didn't feel right. The slight tear in the G # pad created the tiniest leak that caused the issues. I hope she notices the difference in how it plays after the repair.

Before and After: Low Flute edition! A very nice Kingma bass flute in for a few ripped pads and a COA. This is a lovely instrument that plays even better now that the leaks are taken care of.

Before and After: a lovely Burkart flute! Just in for a COA. It was definitely time as some of the keys were moving in slow motion. The oil in the keywork was slightly dirty, but had become thick over the years between servicing. The customer had attributed her issues with playing certain passages to her age. Now the keywork is moving the way it should and she is amazed at how easy those troublesome passages are now!

Well, this rarely happens. The post for the water key saddle on the trombone popped off. Looks like the silver solder wasn't at the right temperature to make a complete area bond. That's why the center looks brass in color and only the edge is soldered. All fixed and ready to make music again!

Before and after: a Burkart piccolo in for its first servicing with me. This customer just purchased it online. A nice soak in bore oil and a bit of polishing later, I think it turned out well.

Before and After: a nice Yamaha flute in for a COA and several pads to be replaced. It had been many years since its last servicing. I hope the customer notices how much easier it plays after the repair.

Before and After: this trumpet had an unfortunate accident involving gravity and the floor. It also had a cleaning while in the shop. I think it turned out pretty well.

Before and After: after years of storage in the closet, pad bugs (carpet beetle larva) have eaten away many of the pads installed in the clarinet. Not only did it have a complete repad, but it will go home in a new case.
