Congratulations to Brooke Mihalek for winning the Tennessee Screenwriting Association's first 'Short 'N Shoot' contest! Brooke's script "For Abuela" has been greenlit and is now in pre-production by Penumbra Entertainment!

Great turnout and fun last night at TSA's Summer Social in Nashville!

We kicked things off with two awesome party games including one where each table were given prompts to write a logline. The winning pitch was a horror movie that included a "water witch"... so make sure to check Shudder or Netflix in the next two years to see if our team "The Swamp Things" have created the next horror franchise!

More news and photos are coming over the next few days to announce the Winner & Finalists of TSA's Short 'N Shoot contest (the winning script is greenlit for production by Penumbra Entertainment) and the recipients of our first Chase Scholarships, where TSA members won $300 to use on continuing education related to screenwriting.

We also shot a couple of interviews for TSA's documentary film before the party started... thanks to our members Jason Allen and Brooke Mihalek for participating in that.

Hey folks. Some of you may know Melissa Sheridan who's one of TSA's board members.
Just a heads-up that Melissa's Facebook account has been hacked and has been posting scams in her name over the last 48 hours. Until you hear otherwise from us here, do not interact with Melissa on Facebook. More importantly, do not donate or contribute money to her - it is a scam.
Thanks and now is probably a good time for all of us to go update our Facebook and other social media passwords while it's on our minds.
