I opened Facebook and saw that familiar prompt:
“What’s on your mind?”

So I actually stopped and thought about it.

Did you know there are four species of giraffe?
It's a random fact, but Facebook was asking for it.

Unfortunately for giraffes, this post isn’t about them.

It’s about ADHD Life Coaching, and I want to say something that is probably terrible marketing:

Coaching is not going to fix your ADHD.

I don’t have a magic system.
There isn’t a checklist that suddenly turns your brain into a tidy little filing cabinet.

Yes, coaching can help with strategies and tools and routines and all the things people talk about. That’s part of it.

But honestly, the real thing that happens is quieter than that.

You start noticing your patterns.
You start catching the moment before the spiral.
You get better at asking yourself the right question instead of the harsh one.

Little by little you figure out how your brain works, and then you stop fighting it quite so much.

That’s the part I care about.

Also, another thing that might be bad marketing:
I actually think 3–6 months is a pretty good amount of time for coaching. Long enough to learn something real, not so long that we’re just hanging out forever.

People do come back sometimes when life gets weird again, which it tends to do.

Anyway.

Thank you for attending this brief and misleading presentation that started with giraffes and ended with ADHD.

If nothing else, now you know there are four kinds of giraffe.

And that ADHD coaching isn’t magic, but it can still be useful.

ADHD Eavesdrop 01/05/2026

When I retired, I didn’t have a clear picture of what life would look like next — I just knew I still wanted to help people.
As a late-diagnosed ADHDer and an educator who spent more than 30 years supporting individuals with ADHD, ADHD Life Coaching felt like a natural next chapter. What I didn’t expect was how much teaching would quietly find its way back into my life.
In creating resources for my coaching clients, I began sharing conversations and insights through YouTube and my podcast, ADHD Eavesdrop — a space that’s intentionally a little unconventional and always evolving. I talk with family members, friends, therapists, doctors, authors, and others about what it really looks like to live with ADHD.
If you’re curious about ADHD beyond the surface — the real stories, the nuance, the humanity — I’d love for you to listen in.
