It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend and fellow Board member, Charlie Martin.
Charlie was truly one of a kind. He treated everyone he met with respect, kindness, and generosity. Whether you needed his professional expertise, a helping hand, or simply a friend to lean on, Charlie was always there. For more than 40 years, Charlie was a constant presence in the extrusion industry. His dedication, leadership, and passion helped shape our community in countless ways. Many of us will always remember his warm smile, his dry sense of humour, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him.
Charlie was the driving force behind organizing the SPE Extrusion Division TopCons, and most recently helped bring together our extrusion community at the SPE Extrusion Optimization Conference in Montreal this past June. His commitment to advancing our industry and connecting people leaves a lasting legacy for everyone involved.
While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful and feel extremely privileged for the time we had shared with Charlie. We will honour his memory by carrying forward the work he did so well and continuing the legacy he had carved out for us.
Charlie, you will be deeply missed...Cheers our friend! We will all raise a glass for you tonight! Until we meet again...
