Carly Pearce was asked by a little girl: “What instruments do you play?”

And what happened next absolutely SENT me 😂

Her fiddle player actually handed it over, Carly launched into a VERY ambitious rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star… and somehow it just kept getting better 🤣☠️

But her response at the very end might be my favorite part of the whole thing.

This was during an intimate event in Studio A at the Grand Ole Opry, celebrating Carly’s new album Honest Woman, (which dropped Friday!!!) following an already incredibly special night at the Opry for the Dolly Parton tribute.

I absolutely LOVED getting to see this side of Carly. There’s something so refreshing about watching someone at her level be completely willing to laugh at herself, have fun and be exactly who she is - an Honest Woman 🔥

Never change Carly, keep rocking that fiddle 😂🫶🏻🎻

Thank you to those three BEAUTIFUL humans that made me feel less alone during a moment I was insanely uncomfortable🥹🫶🏻🥰🫶🏻

Yesterday I had absolutely NO business knowing how the night was going to unfold.

I didn’t have a ticket to the Dolly Parton tribute at the Grand Ole Opry. Every time I refreshed, single tickets were still going for $500+ and I had pretty much accepted that I wasn’t going.

Except I could NOT shake this ridiculous idea.

Make a sign that says “What does Dolly mean to you?” Grab my camera and microphones, drive to the Opry and ask complete strangers heading into the show if they’d tell me their Dolly stories.

And let me tell you… NOTHING in me wanted to do this 😅

The thought of standing outside by myself approaching strangers with a poster board made me WILDLY uncomfortable buuuut my gut kept saying: GO.

So I went with no real plan. Just a sign, a camera and this weird feeling that I was supposed to be there.

And then I was hot, sweating, the music was so loud, I kept moving to different spots and gave up around 6:47pm and went back to my car. And I thought… let me check SeatGeek one last time. And literally AS THE SHOW WAS STARTING, I said screw it and bought one.

And somehow, that decision eventually led to attending a Dolly tribute I reeeeally wanted to be at AND sitting in Studio A at a PRIVATE event with Carly Pearce 🤯

And none of it would have happened if I had stayed home because I was uncomfortable.

That’s the part I keep thinking about.

Sometimes trusting your gut doesn’t make sense in the moment. Sometimes it’s inconvenient. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable as HELL. Sometimes you have absolutely no idea what you’re walking toward.

Go anyway.

Because you have no freaking idea what might be waiting for you on the other side 🥹🦋💗

Dolly’s niece shared how much comfort their family has found in reading all of the stories, memories and messages people have been sharing about Dolly.

She said someone recently told her, “Thank you for sharing her with us.” And her response was basically… how could they not?

Dolly was theirs, of course. Their aunt, their Gigi, their cousin, etc. She was someone they loved privately in ways the rest of us will never know. But she was also Dolly.

She belonged to the world in this REALLY extraordinary way. She gave so much of herself to people she would never meet, and somehow made millions of us feel like we knew her deeply.

Then her niece said something that made me smile through all of the emotion, that “it’s a little scary now because Dolly is completely untethered” 🤣 Honestly, there’s something so perfect about that thought 🦋

And then she sang a song she wrote and recorded with Dolly for Smoky Mountain DNA, making an already incredibly special moment even more meaningful.

What a beautiful reminder that while her family shared Dolly with all of us for so many years, we get to help carry her with us now 🦋💗

After an entire evening of artists sharing stories, singing her songs and honoring the woman who left such an enormous mark on country music and the world at large..

Well let’s just say I did NOT see this coming.

A stage full of people who had spent the night honoring Dolly… and in the end, they gave the final song back to her 😭

Hearing Dolly sing “I Will Always Love You” from that screen, inside the Grand Ole Opry, while everyone stood onstage watching her, absolutely wrecked me.

No one needed to sing it for her, no one needed to try to recreate that moment. They just let Dolly have the final word.

I genuinely cannot think of a more perfect way to end a night celebrating, what an incredibly beautiful way to say goodbye 😭🦋

I’ll listen to advice from Dolly every damn day if it helps me live a little more like the human and absolutely gorgeous soul she was. 🥹🦋

This one feels especially fitting right now.

Keep showing up. Keep taking the chances. Keep putting yourself in the game even when you have no idea what’s waiting around the corner.

Because Dolly was right… you sure as hell can’t win if you’re too afraid to play. 💗

Hoping to carry a little bit of her wisdom, kindness, courage and magic with me for the rest of my days.

Miss you already Dolly. 🦋
