"Employers are currently seeking to fill nearly 400,000 job openings in our state, and at least 60% of those jobs require training or education beyond high school. Yet, fewer than 40% of students are leaving high school prepared for postsecondary education, and only 48% are completing any kind of education beyond a high school diploma."

We are excited to announce our new Teacherpreneur cohort! These eleven Metro Nashville Public Schools educators will design solutions to address educational inequities by conceptualizing and developing prototypes for a chance to win up to $10,000 in prize money and additional seed money towards implementing their solution as a pilot. We are excited to see how their ideas grow to make real, lasting change for Nashville’s public school students.

SIGN PETITIONS for EQUITY!!!
If you have not already done so, please sign the petitions: telling 1) Dr. Adrienne Battle, MNPS Director of Schools and 2) the MNPS Board of Education that We Want Equity for Our Children.
Three times as many African American children as white children continue to face suspensions in Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). Black kids are woefully under-represented in advanced academic programming. WE NEED CLEAR, CONCRETE GOALS TO MAKE AN IMPACT!! In 2022, MNPS created frameworks for racial equity in the school district, but without measurable goals and outcomes (and in the spirit of the season) there is only a skeleton and no meat on the bones! NOAH pushed for successful initiatives like the Resolution for Equity in Advanced Academics and the MNPS Equity Policy. Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Ashford Hughes, developed the “Equity Roadmap” a document that “challenges us all to shift our ideological commitment to become equity leaders by centering the needs of historically marginalized students and their families first at the forefront.” Despite this progress, meaningful, long-lasting change will only happen when leadership articulates CONCRETE, MEASURABLE goals and intended outcomes. At this time, we do not know Dr. Battle’s Goals and Outcomes for equity in discipline referrals or Advanced Academics. TO REFLECT THE DISPROPORTIONALITY IN DISCIPLINE REFERRALS, WE NEED AT LEAST 300 PETITIONS to Dr. Battle and the School Board by Monday, November 7th. Please send your message today and share this campaign with three others!
Can you join me and take action?
