Our 5th grade girls have been diving into the rich history, artistry, and culture of the Harlem Renaissance β learning about the voices, visionaries, and creative expression that helped shape Black culture and American history.
After studying legendary artist Aaron Douglas and his bold storytelling through art, our girls stepped outside to create their own paintings inspired by his style and centered around sisterhood.
Moments like this remind us that learning becomes even more powerful when girls can see themselves reflected in history, art, and culture. ππ¨
