History is more than what you study here; it's something you become part of. For more than two centuries, Hazard Castle has weathered seasons, welcomed new beginnings, and watched generations write their own stories.

Soon, another group of Middlebridge students will walk through these doors, bringing their own dreams, friendships, challenges, and successes. Here's to another chapter in a story that's still being written!

💙 We can't wait to welcome you back.

The MBS garden has us feeling philosophical. 🌱

Sometimes the seeds you plant take a while to grow. Sometimes you pour in hours of work before you see even the smallest signs of progress. Growth rarely happens overnight.

Right now, we're enjoying the fruits of our Environmental Science students' hard work! Fresh blueberries, tomatoes, pears, and gorgeous blooms are filling the garden. Patience and persistence have a way of paying off.

We'll happily enjoy some of the early harvest, but much of what's growing now will make its way into the MBS Kitchen this fall, where our students can enjoy the literal fruits of their labor. 💙🌿

The castle halls are quieter. The fields are empty. The dining hall is missing its usual buzz.

But everywhere we look, we're reminded of the students who filled these spaces with laughter, questions, challenges, friendships, and growth this year.

Summer gives us a chance to catch our breath, reflect on all that was accomplished, and start imagining what's next.

Some days, it's hard to believe this view is part of our daily backdrop.

Summer on the Rhode Island coast is beautiful, but it's even better when it's shared with our students.

For now, we'll enjoy the sunshine and salt air and look forward to welcoming our community back to campus before we know it.

There's something about a perfect summer afternoon-sunshine, green grass, and the smell of salt air off Narragansett Bay-that makes us miss the sounds of practice and the excitement of the season ahead.

While campus is a little quieter right now, we're already looking forward to welcoming our student-athletes back this fall and seeing what this next team can accomplish. New faces, returning leaders, and fresh goals.

Until then, we'll be counting down the days. 🦉⚽️

There are few causes closer to our hearts than literacy. This week, members of the Middlebridge faculty were proud to participate in Links for Literacy in support of Literacy Volunteers of Washington County.

Literacy is about access, opportunity, confidence, independence, and the ability to fully participate in the world around us. We are grateful for the work LVWC does throughout Washington County, providing free adult literacy services, English language instruction, citizenship preparation, financial literacy education, workforce literacy support, and GED preparation. Every day, LVWC helps open doors for adult learners seeking new opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Thank you to Literacy Volunteers of Washington County, the event organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and participants who made this year's Links for Literacy a success. We are honored to support this important work.

Learning happens in a million different moments over the years.

It happens in classroom discussions and presentations. In papers, projects, and quizzes. In moments of challenge, revision, and breakthrough. It happens when students begin to trust their own voices and recognize what they’re capable of achieving.

Some of the most meaningful learning also happens because of the people surrounding our students: peers who are working hard to grow, asking thoughtful questions, taking risks, and imagining bigger futures for themselves.

Growth is rarely just academic here. It’s personal, relational, and deeply human. And one of the greatest gifts of our community is watching students inspire one another to keep changing, striving, and succeeding.

Missing this already. 🏐🦉

With campus quiet for the summer, we’ve been thinking a lot about the energy, intensity, and heart this year’s championship volleyball team brought to Middlebridge. From big serves and bigger blocks, this team made every match feel electric.

More than the wins, we’re proud of the way these athletes showed up for one another with the kind of teamwork that reflects what Middlebridge is all about.

The gym may be empty for now, but we’re already counting down the days until the sounds of sneakers, cheers, and volleyballs echo through campus again. 💙🧡

Looking back, looking forward. 💙

Today, we’re celebrating 18 years of Middlebridge School and reflecting on the incredible journey that brought us here.

At this year’s graduation ceremony, founding Board Chair Mark Pelson shared the story of Middlebridge’s beginnings with our graduates: the vision, the risks, the long hours, the moments of uncertainty, and yes, even the little moments of luck that helped shape this community into what it is today.

It was a powerful reminder for our graduates that meaningful things are rarely built overnight. They are built through commitment, resilience, relationships, and people willing to believe in something before the outcome is guaranteed.

Eighteen years later, we are so proud of the community that has grown from those early dreams and so excited for what comes next.

Once an Owl, always an Owl. 🦉
