Collier Career Academies offer career & technical education (CTE) in diverse subject areas which are constantly evolving with the changing global economy.

Students may earn certifications, scholarship dollars, dual enrollment, & credit toward college.

Did you know the career pathway starts in middle school?

This week, our middle school teachers teaching the CTE Exploration Wheel course came together for professional development focused on helping students discover their interests, explore careers, and begin thinking about their futures.

Through Middle School CTE, students are introduced to a variety of career areas and hands-on learning experiences. It’s an opportunity for students to explore what they enjoy, what they’re good at, and what careers might be a good fit for them—before they enter high school.

That exploration connects to the many opportunities available through our Collier Career Academies in high school, where students can take their interests further through hands-on experiences, industry certifications, work-based learning, internships, and career-focused coursework.

The pathway can continue beyond high school through Career Dual Enrollment, postsecondary education, technical programs, and opportunities that connect students directly to careers.

A special thank you to Lorenzo Walker Technical College for hosting our teachers and providing a campus tour. Seeing the programs and hands-on learning opportunities firsthand helped bring these possibilities to life!

A new pathway is giving students even more ways to explore those interests.

New this year, the Public Service & Law Studies pathway expands the opportunities available through the Law & Public Safety Academy. Students can explore law, government, leadership, communication, civic engagement, and public service while building skills that can be applied to a variety of careers.

The Law & Public Safety Academy offers four pathways:
• Crime Scene Technology
• Criminal Justice
• Public Safety Telecommunication
• Public Service & Law Studies

Students can gain hands-on experience, explore careers, earn industry certifications, and connect their high school education to college and future career opportunities.

Interested in food, travel, events, hotels, or creating great experiences for others?

There’s a new opportunity to explore at Collier Career Academies.

The Hospitality & Tourism Academy is new this year and offers two pathways:

• Culinary Arts
• Hospitality & Tourism Management

Students can turn their interests into real-world skills while exploring careers in culinary arts, hospitality, tourism, event planning, management, marketing, and more.

Through the academy, students can gain hands-on experience, earn industry certifications, explore career opportunities, and connect their high school education to college and future careers.

Interested in a future in health care?

The Health Sciences Academy at Collier Career Academies is expanding for the 2026–2027 school year with two new opportunities: Allied Health and Nursing Assistant.

Students can now explore four health science pathways:
• Allied Health
• Biomedical Sciences
• Exercise Science
• Nursing Assistant

Students can build skills through hands-on learning, explore different areas of health care, earn industry certifications, and gain experiences that connect their classroom learning to future careers and education.

Depending on the pathway, students can work toward certifications in areas such as nursing assistance, phlebotomy, patient care, medical assisting, biotechnology, and personal training.

The Health Sciences Academy is offered at multiple Collier County high schools, with different pathways available at different schools.

The Engineering & Trades Academy at Collier Career Academies gives students the opportunity to turn an interest in how things work into real-world skills and career opportunities.

Students can explore pathways in:
• Aviation Technology

• Engineering
• Robotics

From designing and building to robotics, automation, aviation, and engineering, students can develop hands-on technical skills while exploring careers and discovering what they enjoy.

Depending on the pathway, students can also earn industry certifications, gain real-world experience, and connect their high school coursework to dual enrollment and continued education.

Could your student see themselves working with young children?

The Education Academy at Palmetto Ridge High School gives students interested in education and early childhood education the opportunity to start building skills and experience while still in high school.

Through the four-year Early Childhood Education pathway, students learn about child development, lesson planning, classroom management, working with children and families, and creating safe and engaging learning environments. Students also gain hands-on experience working directly with young children.

By completing the pathway, students can earn industry certifications, complete a 480-hour work experience requirement, and connect their high school coursework to Early Childhood Education at Immokalee Technical College.

The pathway can lead to careers such as:
• Preschool Teacher
• Childcare Administrator
• Childcare Worker

Through these pathways, students can develop skills in entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, business management, and technology. Students also have opportunities to earn industry certifications and gain real-world experience developing ideas, creating products or services, and learning from business professionals.

A new opportunity is growing in Collier County!

New for the 2026–2027 school year, the Agriculture Academy at Palmetto Ridge High School gives students the opportunity to explore the science, technology, and careers behind today’s agriculture industry.

Through the Agriculture Biotechnology pathway, students can explore agriscience, biotechnology, animal science, and scientific investigation while building skills that can open doors to careers in agriculture, science, biotechnology, and more.

The four-year course sequence gives students the opportunity to build technical skills, explore careers, and connect their high school education to their future.
