Info: There are 3 significant types of savings/investment accounts for education. Coverdell (Education IRA), the 529 Plan, and UGMA/UTMA the Uniform Gift to Minors Act/Uniform Transfers to Minor Act. Today just a few facts about Coverdells.

After-tax contributions of up to $2,000 per student per year for children until age 18. Contribution limits may be reduced or eliminated for higher-income taxpayers.

Growth and income within the portfolio are deferred. No tax deductions.

Distributions tax free if used for qualified expenses. College, secondary or elementary school.

If a student’s account is not depleted by age 30, the funds can be rolled into an Education IRA for another beneficiary.

Tonight we did adding and multiplying positives and negatives. Her teacher is giving her homework with mistakes in the problems, for example, she was supposed to multiply two matrices but it was undefined.... And she was supposed to multiply polynomials, and instead of using one variable with exponents the teacher had 3 different variables... so the answer was something you'd find in calculus, not junior high. And she received no lecture in any of this.

I'm still active, tutoring the same students from last semester. I have some open slots. I am now an independent insurance agent representing Aflac, brokering LegalShield, and I'm still teaching Bagua (Kung Fu), but I always make time to tutor. I'm at 239-778-3505.

A parent just told me her daughter, my student, got an A in Geometry and Algebra and got a 5 on her FSA. She was once considered to be weak in Math.

My freshman honors algebra got a 100 on her first test a few weeks ago. The class average was 25.
