Freshman Sophie Zakrzewski delivered a truly remarkable season for our girls varsity tennis team. As the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles player, she compiled an outstanding 12-1 singles record while capturing both District and Regional titles. Sophie capped off her incredible debut with a rare achievement—winning the Class 2A State Championship as a freshman. With a performance like this, her future in tennis looks exceptionally bright.
Aubrey Rogers High School is proud to announce that Darren Nieves has been chosen as our Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight! Darren is a trailblazer who has worked hard to leave a lasting legacy on our school campus and in the Naples community.
After being deeply inspired by his sister’s journey with a brain tumor, he founded the nonprofit Minds Over Tumors to support other children facing the same diagnosis. He recently led a highly successful community gala that raised $150,000. From those funds, he donated $20,000 to brain tumor research and set aside $15,000 to directly help local families.
This fall, he will head to the University of Tampa to study International Business and Economics. He chose Tampa so he can stay close to home and continue growing his nonprofit to help even more people. We are so proud of his hard work and his heart for helping others!

Senior Nikola Markovic has been a model of excellence for our tennis program here at Aubrey Rogers High School. As the team’s No. 1 singles player, he posted an impressive 7–2 record while also serving as a co-star on the top doubles team. Nikola has played a key role in the team’s success, contributing to back-to-back CCAC and Regional Championships and helping last year’s squad make a strong run at the State Championships. Next fall, he’ll take his talents to the collegiate level, continuing his tennis career at Division I New College.
Sophomore standout Aubrey Dubois has dominated the weightlifting platform for Aubrey Rogers High School this season. Competing in the 110-lb weight class, Aubrey went undefeated on her way to capturing CCAC, District, and Regional Championships in both the Olympic and Traditional lifts. She set new personal bests in the sn**ch (100 lbs), clean and jerk (124 lbs), and bench (135 lbs). Beyond high school competition, Aubrey also shines on the USA Weightlifting scene, where she is ranked 4th nationally in the 14-15 age group. She pairs her strength with scholastic excellence, earning a 4.0 unweighted GPA.

A senior sharpshooter here at Aubrey Rogers High School, Daniel Coldiron is lighting up the court this season. The varsity shooting guard is averaging a stellar 23 points (including seven outings with 24 or more), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game. His coaches say there’s no question that Daniel is one of the most dynamic scorers in the area, and he's proving it night after night.
