This year has been one of the most challenging years of my healing journey outside of being actively in crisis.
The news cycle, court rulings, learning about a cousins experience with CSA and our family history of in**st ripped away any part of my brain trying to protect me by trying to believe it was a movie I had watched instead of a horrific reality that I lived through for a decade.
This year I was also the most vocal I had ever been about raising awareness, educating, and sharing my own story.
2026 has been full of pain, memories resurfacing, healing, community, beauty, joy, and change. I hope that sharing my story and this post helps other survivors feel less alone and helps them on their own healing journey.

Not every survivor is in the position to be safe enough to share their story.
Not every survivor can share their story without fear of it impacting their work.
Not every survivor is able to share their story because this is still a very censored and taboo subject in our society.
And no survivors owe their story to anyone.
While sharing my story isn’t always easy I am in a position where my career isn’t at risk by speaking out, I am not in contact with any of my family that wants me to stay quiet, and I have done enough healing work on my journey that sharing my story is possible now, this absolutely has not been the case for most of my journey.
If sharing my story helps one survivor it is worth it.
Before this year I was feeling super strong in my healing. I had not had flashbacks and memories surface for years. With everything that was going on in the world and in my own life this year required my healing to go deeper.
I had to face a lot of truths that were not comfortable. I had to take a step back from creating and building my businesses and focus on my healing.
I am so grateful for all the work I had done prior to this year because I really was leaning hard into all of the skills I learned and tools I have.
Our breath is one of the greatest tools we have to help us heal. I have done more Breathwork in 2026 than I have ever done
