As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to thank our families for your continued partnership and trust. Together, we have created a nurturing environment where every child is known, supported, and inspired to learn.

If you are new to our community and exploring school options, we are proud to be part of Collier County Public Schools, an A-rated district committed to academic excellence and meeting the unique needs of each student. Enrollment is simple and convenient through our district’s online system. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 11, 2026. For School Year 2026-2027, our school day will begin at 8:20 a.m. with dismissal at 2:50 p.m.

For our returning families, we look forward to welcoming your child back soon. We are excited to begin another great year together. During the summer, we encourage you to read together and take advantage of the 2026 Summer CCPS Classics Reading List. Families are also encouraged to explore the CCPS Summer Learning activities, available now to help students prepare for the next school year.

As you begin preparing for the new school year, please review the School Supplies information available on our school website to ensure your child is ready for a strong start.

At our school, we truly believe that being a small school with a big heart makes all the difference. Every day, we work to build strong, meaningful relationships with our students and families because we know that when we feel connected, supported, and valued, our children thrive. We are incredibly proud to be your neighborhood school. Our HCE staff had a wonderful luncheon on Friday afternoon to celebrate another amazing year together! Thank you to our social committee members for organizing the event and creating a fun end of year HCE bingo game! Congrats to Ms. Garcia, Ms. Ashley, and Ms. Brooks for winning!

We had a blast at our Quarter 4 student celebration on Wednesday! We recognized classrooms that passed the most iReady lessons, students who passed their iReady lessons with 85% or higher for the quarter and students who met their AR goal for the quarter. We also recognized our students in grades three and four who were the top winners in the Elementary Math Challenge competition. We also introduced “The Herbie Award” which honors our students who scored a level 5 on their PM3 ELA, Math, and/or Science assessments. We had a total of 58 level 5s!!!

On Friday we celebrated our amazing fifth graders at our Moving Up Ceremony! As leaders of our school, these students have truly made a difference. They have set an example for our younger students and helped shape the spirit of our school community. The students who follow in your footsteps will benefit from the paths you’ve paved, the kindness you’ve shown, and the standards you’ve set.

We are proud to share that Herbert Cambridge Elementary has been named one of only four elementary schools in CCPS to receive the Zoo Con School of the Year recognition!
A special thank you to Emily Parlier from our science department and Sara from the Naples Zoo for joining our school news broadcast to surprise our students and staff with this exciting announcement. We were presented with a school bus filled with Zoo Con animals, along with an official certificate to commemorate this achievement.
Way to go, Otters! We are so proud of our outstanding staff and students for this incredible accomplishment.

We had so much fun celebrating our amazing teachers and staff this week! Our staff enjoyed the Hydration Station, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, a baked potato bar, and creating their own snackle kits. We are so grateful to our families for the generous donations of drinks and snacks that helped make the week extra special. What a wonderful week at HCE!!

Today we welcomed our newest Otters at our Kindergarten Round Up! We can’t wait for them to be official otters in August! A huge thank you to Ms. Carolina and Ms. Esly for our beautiful decorations. Herbie and his cousin Josh even made an appearance! Thank you Mrs. Jones for putting everything together to make this a special morning for our families. 🦦

On Wednesday we finished our Rise and Shine Parent Workshops with our Kindergarten families! It was a great morning and our families loved their new games and materials! Thank you to all of our parents who attended a workshop! 🦦
