I’ve realized something on this trip…

For so many years, I thought life was about building a career, raising a family, checking off goals, and preparing for “someday.”

But I don’t think that’s the point anymore.

I think life is about intentionally building a life that fits the season you’re in.

Because here’s the truth…

You’ve never been this age before.
You’ve never lived this season before.

At 30, life looked different than it did at 40.
At 40, it looked different than 50.
And now at 60, I’m discovering it’s different all over again.

Each season asks something new of us.

Maybe that’s why we can’t keep living by yesterday’s definition of success.

Instead of asking, “What’s next?” or “What should I accomplish?”

I’m learning to ask a different question:

“Is this the life I want to be living in this season?”

For me, that answer looks like slow mornings with coffee, long walks with my husband, time with family, meaningful conversations, work that matters, and making memories while I still can.

I’m realizing we don’t just build careers.

We build lives.

And every new season gives us another opportunity to build one we truly love.

At 60, I’ve discovered something surprising…

I worry so much less.

Less about whether my house is perfectly clean.
Less about wearing the “right” clothes.
Less about what other people think.

Scott and I have the privilege of traveling to incredible places, but we’ve learned something along the way…

It’s never really been about the places. It’s always about the people.

Our greatest joy isn’t another passport stamp. It’s knowing someone walked away feeling seen, valued, encouraged, and loved.

When we’re home, we’re happiest spending time with our family, enjoying simple evenings together, and heading to bed early.

At the end of most days, we ask ourselves one simple question:

“Did we do all the good we could today? Did we leave the people around us feeling seen, valued, and loved?”

Maybe that’s one of the greatest gifts of a new season.

A meaningful life isn’t measured by how many places you’ve been. It’s measured by the people you loved along the way.
