Hot off the presses! We’re thrilled to announce that the 2021 Stone Fort Yearbook is a finalist in two categories of the prestigious National College Media Association Pinnacle Awards: “Yearbook of the Year" and "Best Yearbook Feature Spread,” which was written and designed by Meag Morton ’22, former Stone Fort editor-in-chief and current email marketing specialist at SFA.

“National Hispanic Heritage Month is a time dedicated for us to celebrate our rich history, language, diversified cultures and extensive stories in the United Sates,” said Enrique Venegas, a financial aid counselor at SFA.

“I feel very proud of this acknowledgement as it gives us recognition for our contributions and accomplishments. I embrace my Mexican culture through traditional foods, folkloric music and special holidays enjoyed with loved ones.”

Venegas said he loves his culture and is proud to represent his parents, family, friends and all those in pursuit of the American Dream.

We are excited to announce the introduction of two new undergraduate degrees starting this fall! The Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering will be housed in the SFA College of Sciences and Mathematics and taught by faculty members in the Department of Physics, Engineering and Astronomy.

SFA named one of top rural serving universities in the nation | SFA NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University has been named the No. 1 Texas university of its size as a rural-serving institution. The Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges awarded the designation to SFA, also placing it No. 11 nationally.
