Project Raices

We are a team committed to helping parents and teachers of English Learners in Nac and Lufkin! In Spanish, the term raíces means roots.

We are Project RAICES, a Department of Education funded National Professional Development Grant designed to take direct action to improve the school readiness, emergent literacy, and success of bilingual and multilingual students in East Texas. This name was chosen to reflect the importance of sustaining the cultural and linguistic diversity of the community while promoting growth of language and literacy.
