🌿 Now Hiring: Infant & Toddler Teaching Assistant Full-Time
📍 Wildflower Preschool & Child Care LLC – Myrtle Creek, Oregon
Wildflower Preschool & Child Care LLC is seeking a dependable, flexible, and team-oriented Teaching Assistant to support our infant and toddler classroom. This is a year-round position designed for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about providing high-quality, inclusive early learning experiences.
This position requires flexibility, strong initiative, and the ability to work well in a team.
Position Details:
• Full time 40 hours a week
• Monday–Friday availability between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Year-round employment
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• $16–$19 per hour (depending on education and Oregon Registry Step level)
Position Summary:
The Teaching Assistant provides support to the classroom. This role assists lead teachers in implementing curriculum, maintaining safe and engaging environments, supporting children’s social-emotional development, cleaning duties and ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, strong communication skills, and alignment with Wildflower’s mission to provide quality, inclusive early learning environments.
Essential Duties Include:
• Supporting curriculum and daily lesson plans
• Active supervision to ensure safety
• Assisting with transitions, routines, and behavior guidance
• Supporting children with diverse developmental and inclusion needs
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Assisting with USDA-compliant meal service and food preparation
• Maintaining classroom cleanliness and sanitation
• Assisting with diapering, toileting, hygiene routines, and nap/rest
• Completing cleaning duties as assigned
• Substituting in classrooms based on business needs
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Required Qualifications:
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Enrollment and ongoing compliance with Oregon’s Central Background Registry (CBR)
• Food Handler’s Card
• Current First Aid & CPR certification
• Completion of required Oregon state child care trainings
• Commitment to 20 hours of ongoing professional development annually
• Full availability M–F 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Ability to work additional hours when needed
Wildflower is willing to assist the right applicant in obtaining required trainings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Oregon Registry Step 7 or higher
• Required trainings completed prior to hire
• Experience in licensed child care/ preschool programs
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, lift up to 50 pounds, and respond quickly in an active early learning environment.
