This could be the year your student starts building more than a diploma.
Dave Sodano from Dependable Plumbing and Air recently spoke with middle and high school students about the opportunities available in the skilled trades—and how beginning that training in high school can make a real difference.
At South Carolina Construction Academy High School, students in grades 9–12 can begin learning practical, hands-on skills that may help them earn industry credentials, prepare for in-demand careers, become financially independent, and even build a business of their own one day.
These skills are valuable whether a student plans to enter the workforce after graduation, attend technical college, or pursue a four-year degree. Knowing how to solve problems, work safely, complete projects, and build something with your own hands can create opportunities that last a lifetime.
This could be the year your teenager tries something new, discovers a talent, and begins building skills that have real value in the real world.
Enrollment is still open for grades 9–12.
