Who else loves BIG rocks?! 🪨🤩

We visited the famous “BIG rock” on Beaver Island, Michigan, where 2/3 of it could potentially be underground!!! 🤯

This HUGE glacial erratic (boulder) was brought down by the glaciers, from the Canadian Shield, north of Lake Superior!

That fall feeling is starting to creep in!🍁

I’m officially turning my old pig pen into a garden tool storage (to get things put away properly and before Ashley’s dad comes for an inspection) 🧐☺️🤓

This is all made out of scraps I salvaged, and lumber that I milled many years ago, but the walls were never really “finished”

Getting things off the floor and hung up will greatly improve storage and organization and keep my equipment in good condition! 💪🏻

Who else is starting fall chores?! 🍃🍁

I get to marry this amazing woman THIS WEEK!!! 😍
Only 6 more days!!! 👰🏻‍♀️💍🤵🏼

We are picking up our marriage license this morning and Ashley has her trial hair appointment afterwards. 💇🏻‍♀️

The house and property is looking tidy, and nearly ready for our friends and family to visit! 👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏼

CHEESE FLAVORED OREOS?!?! 🤯
They are…surprisingly good!!!

The cheese is like the tiny round ritz snack crackers with the cheese spread.

They might be better than all the sugar frosting in the regular ones?!? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Probably going to get a bit of pushback on this…😬🙄 Do you agree though?! 🤷🏼‍♂️

BUT we’ve decided after flying in and visiting the main tourist islands here in Michigan, that Beaver Island, is really the “sweet spot” as far as islands go here in the Great Lakes! 🍭🏝️

Beaver island has a GREAT mix of space to roam, a variety of stores, great amenities and restaurants for when you want it…without having to wait an hour and 45 minutes to get in, like a nearby island 🙄🐴

If you haven’t a plane, there’s NO landing fees.
The FBO and airport is NICE!
You can camp at the airport, for FREE.

THE PEOPLE here are so darn friendly. Everyone waves. 👋🏼

My new friend Marshall (and follower of this page) stopped us as we were riding our E bikes back to the airport, to introduced himself and say hi, and then he gave us HIS map of the island so we could better tour around! 😭🚲

Our other friends who also flew in, Bill and Trish, took us to lunch in their car and gave us a nice tour of their property and then offered for us to stay there!

If you haven’t been to Beaver Island, you should definitely go this fall. 🍁🍃
Hands down, a beautiful place and WONDERFUL experience. 🙌🏼

Drummond Island, Michigan, is hands down the MOST beautiful departure we’ve had yet! 👏🏼🤩

The multitude of islands, loads of freighters, and the water color sure make for a stunning flight!

St. Helena island, located just 10 miles west of the Mackinac bridge is a 240 acre, uninhabited island owned by Little Traverse Conservancy, except for the 3 acre area where the lighthouse is, which is owned by Great Lakes Light Keepers Association (GLLKA)

The light was built in 1873 and stands 63 feet tall.
