Free Range Farm School

Wednesday night class was also a hot one! But we’re so thankful to everyone who still showed up worshipped in this heat! The students loved continuing on their friendship quilts, and meeting Blaze and Rootbeer Float were highlights with the students. This week we will start sewing our quilts and learning more about agriculture!

This week, our Monday and Wednesday daytime classes worked more on their friendship quilts, did a nature study on the lifecycle of snails along with a craft, learned about tortoises, and the students got to brush Blaze the Tortoise’s shell 🐢. #farmschool

Introducing Ranch Hands: Empowering Teens through Agriculture and Life Skills We’re excited to unveil our Ranch Hands program, a unique initiative by Free Range Farm School designed to equip teenagers with essential life skills and a deep understanding of agriculture. At Ranch Hands, students engage in hands-on farming activities, learn real life skills, and gain practical knowledge about sustainable agriculture practices. Our program goes beyond the basics of farming; it instills valuable life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving. Participants work alongside experienced mentors in a supportive environment, building confidence and a strong work ethic that will serve them well beyond their time on the ranch. Tonight was a great way to kick off the program!

It was orientation week here at Farm School; it was so good to see familiar faces and meet so many new ones too! We cannot wait for everyone to see what we have planned for this next Free Range School year, it’s going to be awesome! 🤍

Fridays are for foraging 🍇 Todays adventure was in beautiful Yucaipa, CA 📍 Oak Glen Preserve This is one of our favorite spots to visit! We stopped at Los Rios Ranchos and visited Old West Days where they dipped candles, roped, and met the civil war booths. #freerangekids #foraging #naturehike
