Did January Knoxville Compass column on my road trip along the Nolichucky looking for places to paddle, finding none, but seeing how Helene altered the river. Top photo is taken from the Appalachian Trail, looking down at the Noli upstream of Erwin, Tennessee. Photo below that is the Chestoa Pike Bridge, broken off and tossed downstream by floodwaters.
