The Legacy Gathering 2026, co-chairs and committee members announce our Woman's Club of Murfreesboro, Sat August 29th Garden Party fundraising event, Must have a reservation. We are asking for the community's support as we continue the restoration and preservation of the Woman's Club building, also known as the Baskette House. The building, built in 1856, now 170 years old, was bought in 1916 by the Woman's Club of Murfreesboro. The building located one block off East Main Street at 221 East College Street, is one of few pre–Civil War buildings remaining in downtown Murfreesboro.

The Club, over its history has contributed to Murfreesboro in many ways; housing the first permanent lending library, providing a home for the first Rutherford County nurse prior to a hospital, beautification projects downtown, support for soldier's families during the world war years, scholarships, as well as a meeting place for numerous civic groups and a host to community and family celebrations. Please visit our website to learn more about our mission and organization at www.womansclubofmurfreesboro.org. The Woman's Club of Murfreesboro is a 501 (c) 3 organization and donations are tax deductible.

This past year's work included re-wiring the entire house to current codes and standards, removing the original 1920's wiring in the house, plumbing updates, the refurbishing and restoration of the tenant space upstairs, and the restoration of three original 1856 sashes and windows above the front porch. Support from generous community friends helped make this work possible. Going forward, work will include continued plumbing updates, create a handicapped bathroom, and basement and flooring support of the kitchen, prep room and assembly room.

Your support is essential to help us preserve this historically significant part of Murfreesboro architecture and history! If you would like to provide support or join us at this event, please use the invite contact to RSVP and make donations!

While Dr. Money is on his sabbatical abroad, FBC will be blessed by a series of guest preachers in the pulpit. This week we welcome Adam Buzard, Executive Director of United4Pastors, an initiative of Operation Andrew.

As a missiologist, Adam Buzard has divided his career between ministry and nonprofit worlds through creating, developing, deepening, and leading programs and organizations. Over the last 18 years, his work has centered around helping individuals and groups engage social meaning, and then scaffolding that into significant impact, particularly through partnering with communities across diverse racial, cultural, economic, and spiritual identities and supporting them to develop an epistemology centered around mission-driven engagement. An ACE's & Trauma based trainer, He has been able to help organizations, schools, and churches develop a trauma-informed praxis that serves staff and their community in a more wholistic way. As a Stage IV Cancer survivor, he is far too familiar with the unique journey and struggles that all of us endure, and that experience has reoriented how he sees the world and the opportunities organizations, businesses, faith partners, and communities have to make a tangible difference.
