MHS Parents - don’t miss our Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Meet your student’s teachers, learn about classroom expectations and experience a glimpse of their daily schedule. And don’t forget to check out our newly renovated kitchen and cafeteria and new classroom wing. We’re excited to show you some of the progress we made over the summer - with many more improvements ahead of us!

Tuesday’s event runs from 5:30 - 8 p.m., starting with a Parent Welcome in the Auditorium at 5:40 p.m. and a walk-through of your student’s semester 1 schedule from 6-8 pm.

We look forward to seeing our parents and partnering together for another great school year at MHS!

The District 120 School Board on Tuesday evening recognized several student athletes and one faculty member for accomplishments achieved last spring.

MHS student-athletes Erick Cordova and Izic Miller represented the Boys Track & Field Team, which qualified for state and set a new school outdoor record in the 4x800 meter relay. Other members of the team (not pictured) were Elijah Mendoza, Nathan McCreight and Andrew Weaver.

The Board also recognized Girls Track & Field team members Vicky Osei and Precious Oyebanji (both not pictured). Osei was the IHSA Sectional Champion in the 100-meter dash and finished 16th in state; Oyebanji also competed at state, finishing 31st in the 800-meter run.

The Board recognized MHS Teacher Kristen Behrens for being named the Lake County High School Educator of the Year for 2025-26 by the Lake County Regional Office of Education in May.

MHS students returned to school on Tuesday to see a completely remodeled kitchen and cafeteria. We asked them what they thought of the new space. Here's their reaction.

While the renovation isn't complete yet (skylight glass, flooring and other updates to come this fall), it's vastly different than the original cafeteria that had been in place for more than 60 years.

Welcome back, Mustangs! The energy at Mundelein High School was amazing on Tuesday as the MHS Band, Cheer, and Dance teams brought the spirit to kick off the 2026–2027 school year.
