Katelyn Redman, a 2024 Ball State graduate, has successfully completed the Peace Corps Clearance Process and will be headed to a post in North Macedonia later this month! 🌟

Katelyn previously worked with ONCS on a successful Fulbright application, which led to an English Teaching Assistantship in Germany. Last fall, she again collaborated with ONCS on her Peace Corps application and was named a recipient. Congratulations, Katelyn! 👏

Sabrina Langerak, a recent BSU graduate and member of the women’s golf team, has received an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship! 🏆

She was one of only 21 female spring sport athletes nationwide to receive the $10,000 scholarship, recognizing her accomplishments in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, and community service.

📣 ONCS ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 📣

BSU alum Marius Igitangaza Ngabo worked with ONCS on three scholarship applications during his time in his graduate program in landscape architecture. He was awarded the Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation Student Scholarship in 2025! 🌟

Marius has since graduated and is now in the role of landscape designer at the Madison County Council of Governments, which is a regional transportation planning agency in Anderson, Indiana. Congratulations to Marius on all his accomplishments!

ONCS is excited to recognize Biology major Gino Trujillo for receiving a Freeman-ASIA scholarship! Gino will study for a semester at Akita International University in Japan in the coming year. 🇯🇵

Gino, who takes Japanese at Ball State and is active in Japanese clubs on campus, will be taking Japanese courses and have the opportunity to learn more about the culture during his study abroad.

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia provides funding to U.S. undergrad students who wish to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia, with the aim of increasing the number of Americans with first-hand exposure to Asian cultures and languages.
