Well, breeding is definitely not for the faint of heart. On one hand you get cute babies, and on the other sometimes you have to make tough decisions on behalf of those same babies.
Our fall dwarf breeding season is going a little less favorably than hoped. While our older spring juniors are sorted, or newly arriving litters are going quite slow. Kitsune didnāt take and while she isnāt currently lifting, Iām hoping to have her rebred here over the next few days now that the storms have passed. Dirty Little Secret had her litter on day 32 after several days of thunderstorms had finally subsided, but one kit was a doa peanut, and the other is a max factor.. and naturally, is a beautifully marked broken patterned agouti. In other news, the dinner project babies out of Hammie are growing very well! Iām happy with their growth and temperament, with how Hammie has really āhoppedā into her role finally as a momma, and Iām having fun with the little rainbow of colors they turned out to be. 2 will be going off to their new local homestead here soon, and the others will grow up a little longer before processing day in October. Dicey is due here in about 10 days as well, and Iām excited to see her on a big litter once again. She always does such a great job š¤
Some āhappeningsā later this fall will be us attending the November Moscow show, a little homecoming for Bo**er Sugar as she comes back from her stay with Dream Brew Rabbitry , and we have a new addition or two coming soon! Can you guess what weāre adding? š
Stay tuned to see what happens next! āØ
