WOW!!!!

I received a phone call from the one and only David Rodriguez on Sunday. 😱

AND

I just finished recording an interview for his YouTube channel talking about education alternatives. 🤩

He also asked to co-host a local event to educate our community on the importance of what we're creating here. 🥳

I know in my heart that I was given this vision for our children for a reason. This could help open doors to the resources and support we need to keep building.

Will keep you posted as things continue to develop.

I appreciate all of you who continue to believe great things are possible, even if they don't come easily. 🙏

We received some unexpected news this week at Seeds of Life, which required an extremely difficult decision.

A key member of our team had to quit unexpectedly due to personal family circumstances, taking her children out as well.

This created our enrollment to fall below the level needed to retain our primary caregiver, Ilex, who we love dearly. Therefore, we had to temporarily cancel our regular schedule for the kids until the resources necessary to sustain the program become available.

We are still 100% devoted to the vision we have spent the last year creating. This was a heartbreaking decision that we wish we hadn't had to make at this time. It is easier to build from a place of momentum than not.

We appreciate all of the support we have received from the community so far, and trust that things will come together in divine timing to give the kids the educational experience they deserve.

Taking Risks

Summer can be a time for kids to push their edges and learn new physical skills. At Seeds of Life, we believe that it’s important to let them learn to trust their own instincts through trial and error.

At the Sudbury Valley School, one of our educational role models, children as young as four have been trusted for more than 50 years to decide their own limits, as they freely climb as high as they are comfortable in a beloved old beech tree. While adults were nervous and fretful at first about how high they would go, a decision was made to let them decide their own limits. The result is that, in over 50 years, not a single child has been injured by climbing in the tree, even though some managed to climb to some very impressive heights.

In what ways do you find yourself playing small in your life in order to feel safe? How can we pass along a new message of self-trust to our kids?
