Mount Pleasant Middle School Marksman Team This page is for the Mount Pleasant Middle School Marksman team. We practice once a week on Saturdays.

Every team member is required to have taken Hunter's Safety and have a parent or guardian present at practices and try outs.

I’m sure many of you have heard there is going to be a district and state tournament in the coming weeks but all district tournaments are virtual. BUT....due to practice restrictions, and ammo virtually impossible to find MPMS isn’t participating this season. I hope we can pick back up next fall.

As of today December 8th the marksman team is not allowed to assemble or practice. This comes straight from the county. We had our annual coaches meeting last night and all district tournaments are going to be held at each teams own practice facility with a NCWRC representative there to score. Tournaments start the first week of February and are each weekend through March, so it depends on the draw when we would compete. That being said I don’t really see how there will be a tournament but all we can do is wait. January 15th is the date set by NCWRC as to say if we’re having a tournament or not. I will post any updates as soon as I get them.

It’s getting closer to the time of year practice starts. I’m still waiting to see how the Covid mess plays out with school schedules. For any newcomers, a hunter safety number is required before any practice. I hope to have a meeting sometime in the next few weeks to go over everything with everyone and answer all the questions I can. 22 ammo Is a little harder to find now, so if you have a chance to buy some please do. I will post ahead of time when and where we have our meeting.

District tournament has been cancelled. I appreciate all the hard work from everyone. We will resume practicing in the fall

There is still a chance we may have some sort of tournament.....that being said I also received an email this morning saying any teams caught practicing will be disqualified. I’ll keep everyone posted as things progress

Hope everyone is staying healthy and shooting some at home if possible. The Corona virus epidemic is certainly nothing like I’ve ever seen or expected. The decision about our district tournament is still to be made mid-April. I just want to let everyone know how much I appreciate all the hard work and let’s keep our fingers crossed we can get things back to normal sooner than later
