Let’s give a warm welcome to one of our new Wando High School Band Directors, Dr. Andrew Blair! 🎶

Dr. Blair is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Carolina University and a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree from the University of Georgia. This will be his 13th year teaching in the classroom.

Before moving to Charleston, Dr. Blair taught for eight years in North Carolina and spent the last five years teaching at the University of Georgia. Some of his favorite things to do include spending time with his wife, son, and 2 dogs, being outdoors, and watching UGA Football.

We are glad to have him joining the CCSD Visual and Performing Arts Department this year! ❤️🤍

2 days to go….As we countdown to the 2023-2024 Drive, the AMHS Booster Club is highlighting how we support our Raptor student athletes. Donations and volunteers help to provide spirit and concessions at home football and basketball games. AMHS Booster Club also sponsors many school wide events, including the March Madness Tournament Challenge, and collaborates with SIC, PIE and AMHS Foundation to provide coordinated funds to host events, including the 1st Annual Alumni Tailgate, AMHS Homecoming 5th Quarter and the Freshman Carnival. Our biggest celebration is the annual All Sports Banquet where we recognize Raptor athletic achievements and award $4,000 in total scholarships. Join us here on Monday as we kick off the 2023-2024 year! 🦅🏁

📃Nick's application was selected because of his academic achievements and commitment to being a valuable team member through sports. Nick played Varsity baseball for 3 years, was a Varsity wrestler for 2 years, and participated in many other activities while in high school. ⚾

Congratulations, Mercedez!

Congratulations to HOBY ‘17 Alumna Mercedez Fernandez. Today she graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

I met her at HOBY 2019 when she was staff and I was then Board President. She was just about to leave for West Point and I had graduated many, many years before. So glad to walk with her on this 4-year journey.

Mercedez embodies the ethos of the Servant Leader. She will excel, in the Army and life, and is truly OUTSTANDING!
