New for Saltwater Summer 2026: This year I studied the tides and carefully selected the weeks for saltwater week based on the tide schedule. Hopefully we will hit the peek bite with the weeks I selected.

Saltwater Week 2, 2025, was a tough week of fishing. The tides and HEAT were against us this week producing a record low number of fish caught in a week. These campers were troopers though! They practiced the 2 “P” words: patience and persistence. Thankfully our persistence paid off on the last day of camp with 8 fish caught!🎉

Freshwater Week 2 2025 was great! Lots of fish were caught despite battling daily rainshowers. We didn’t let the rain slow us down! The fish don’t care that it’s raining 😆!

Saltwater Week 1 2025 was a success! Biggest fish of the week was a 22” black drum. Other species caught included lots of toadfish, spade, pig fish, Black Sea bass, hogchoker, stingray and blue crab. The kids caught fiddler crabs and threw a cast net to catch live bait. Hopefully everyone learned how to tie an improved clinch knot to rig a pole and most importantly learned that fishing takes patience and persistence. It was a great week!

Week 1 Freshwater 2025 is in the books! We set some records this week with biggest fish caught during camp and biggest bass caught. We were also blessed to have 3 local Game Wardens join us to help instruct. It was a good week of fishing!

EPIC CATCHES: We set some camp records today thanks to Game Warden Matt Beckett. He put one of the boys on the largest bass ever caught during fishing camp using a cut sunfish. One of the smallest girls in camp landed the largest fish EVER caught during fishing camp: a 36” grass carp! 🎉👏🏻👏🏻

Both kids used what I taught them about using their drag to tire out large fish so they don’t snap off. The carp was caught on 8 lb line with a 15 lb leader! Drag works!

Final week of freshwater fishing camp 2024 was a success! We only caught 45 fish this week, which is low for a week of camp, but we caught our biggest 2 fish of the summer this week: a 22 inch and a 22.5 inch channel catfish. Everyone went home with some great gear including new rods, tackle boxes, lures, fishing posters, a guide to fishing book, a landing net, make-and-take lures, and lots more. I’ll see y’all next summer! Until then…just keep fishing!

Final day of saltwater week was a success! Love fishing at the Mount Pleasant Pier!
