Reminders/Updates/Info for the week

Parents, We have put a cubicle shelf in the front lobby for parents to drop off items students may forget. Please use this when dropping off items that are not immediately needed by your student. The receptionist will get the item to your student as soon as possible, or at the end of the day if it is something they need after school. Thank you for helping us to limit the calls into the classrooms during the day!

Attention ALL Band Parents! If you have not already, please take the time to sign-up for our Remind group. This is how you will find out when and where our band concerts are! You can download the app and use the class code below, or text your class code to the number 81010. Thanks!

Attention 6th Grade Band Parents! Your child must have an instrument by August 31st. If you have not rented one already, please see the attached flyer and scan the QR code to start the rental process. Parents-This is a reminder that updated immunizations are now due for the current 7th graders. Please provide a copy of the immunizations to the school for your student. If your student has a health condition that requires medication at school, please ask the school nurse or front office for a medication authorization form. This form must be completed by your student's doctor then returned to school with the medication. We ask that parents bring the medication to the front office. Good Morning,

There is a broken down tractor trailer on Main St. that is causing traffic delays. We know Bus 138 will be delayed with the potential of other routes being delayed. If possible, parents can bring their child to school. If not, please let students know to stay at the stop even if its past their normal pickup time.

Good Evening Hawks!

This is Principal Curtis Mitcham, calling with important information for Mount Holly Middle School families.

We had a great first week of school at MHMS! Our Hawks did an excellent job learning routines, meeting their teachers, and beginning the year with a positive attitude. As we enter Week 2, we look forward to continuing to build strong relationships, reinforce expectations, and focus on learning. On Monday, all students will participate in grade level PBIS Behavior Assemblies to review schoolwide expectations and learn how they can help create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.

As a reminder, Student Packets were sent home last Wednesday that were due back on Friday, August 14th. If you have not returned those packets, please send them as soon as possible. Thank you for your help.

Good Evening Hawks!
This is Principal Curtis Mitcham, calling with important information for Mount Holly Middle School families.

As we begin a new school year, we are excited to introduce our 2026–2027 school theme: Let's Grow. Every Hawk. Every Day. Growth doesn't happen by chance, it happens through purpose, perseverance, and a commitment to becoming better each day.

This year, we challenge every member of the Mount Holly Middle School family to embrace the mindset of continuous improvement. Whether you are a student, teacher, support staff member, administrator, or parent, we all have opportunities to learn, lead, and grow. Our theme reminds us that success is not measured solely by grades, test scores, or accomplishments. True success is found in the progress we make, the relationships we build, the challenges we overcome, and the impact we have on others. Our commitment is simple: Every Hawk. Every Day.

Every student deserves opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and as a leader. Every staff member commits to growing professionally, building meaningful relationships, and creating learning experiences that inspire students to reach their full potential. Every day is another opportunity to improve, encourage someone else, and make Mount Holly Middle School stronger than it was yesterday. As we move through this school year, our theme will guide our classrooms, our conversations, our celebrations, and our decisions.

Every lesson taught, every relationship built, every challenge overcome, and every success celebrated will remind us why we are here. Together, we will continue to build a school where everyone belongs, everyone matters, and everyone grows. We are looking forward to a great 26-27 school year.

Our 7th & 8th Grade Open House will also be held on Monday, August 10, from 4:30–6:00 PM. Students and families will have the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and get ready for another great year at MHMS.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 12, and we are looking forward to seeing all of our Hawks back on campus! Our doors open at 7:45am and the day will end at 3:30. On Wednesday, students will be bringing home a student Information packet. Please fill that out and send it back to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, August 14th.

This year, Chromebooks will be assigned to students for instructional use but will remain at school. Students will begin each morning in homeroom, where they will pick up their assigned Chromebooks. They will return to homeroom at the end of the day to turn them in. Chromebooks will only be sent home when necessary, such as during inclement weather or other circumstances requiring remote learning.

Parents, please reference the Student/Parent Handbook and Bus Information provided in the digital version of this message. This will give you important information you need to know regarding MHMS. Our students will be going over this at school as well.
