ABUZTUA - AGORRILA - August is full of Basque moments.

Maybe you’re traveling through the Basque Country. Maybe you’re heading to a Basque festival. Or maybe you’re just looking for one small way to use your Basque this month.

Whatever your August looks like, pick one goal:
• Speak one conversation in Basque.
• Order a coffee or pintxo in Basque.
• Learn a few new words before your next festival.
• Chat with family in Basque.

Small steps add up.

What’s your Basque goal for August? Tell me in the comments! 🙌🏼

Whether you’re celebrating in Boise, Baiona, Caracas, San Francisco, or dreaming of your first trip to the Basque Country, you can be part of the tradition.

San Fermin isn’t just about bulls.

It’s about Basque identity, language, and tradition.

From txupinazo to Gora San Fermin!, these are the words I wish every Basque learner knew before putting on the red scarf.

Nola esaten da “JUNE” euskaraz?

June always feels a little different.

Longer days.

More time outside.

More chances to hear Euskara in the streets, at festivals, around family tables, and in everyday life.

This month, I’m choosing progress over perfection. Not only is school ending on June 15th, but after I want to spend more time in Basque Skool helping with…

A few more Basque words learned.

A few more Basque conversations attempted.

A few more moments connected to Basque culture.

Because keeping a language alive doesn’t happen all at once.

It happens one word, one learner, and one day at a time. ❤️💚🤍

What’s one Basque goal you have for June?

And if you want a community of learners cheering you on, practicing alongside you, and helping keep Euskara and Basque culture alive, come join us inside Basque Skool. We’d love to welcome you.

Gero arte lagun!

POV: you’re learning Euskara - Basque and every tiny win feels like an Olympic event 😂

One correct pronunciation?
Award.

Understanding two words in a song?
Award.

Accidentally responding in Basque without stalling for 45 seconds first?
BIG award.

Learning Euskara isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s confusing, awkward, & full of “wait… why does THIS ending change too?” moments. 🤪

But every little moment counts.

Every word remembered.
Every attempt made.
Every “kaixo.”
Every time you try again instead of quitting.

That’s how languages stay alive.
Little by little.
Person by person.

And that’s exactly why I created Basque Skool. The community where Basque learners from all over the world can learn together, encourage each other, laugh through the awkward moments, and help keep Euskara, the language, and Basque culture alive together. ❤️💚🤍

If you’ve been learning alone, this is your sign to find your people.

Join us inside Basque Skool.

Some things survive because people choose not to let them disappear.

Language.
Culture.
Traditions.
Identity.

Every time you learn a Basque word, share a story, dance, cook, sing, or teach someone about anything Basque… you help keep the Basque culture and language alive.

Not perfect.
Not fluent.
Just willing.

For the Basque. ❤️💚🤍

Kaixo lagun! 👋🏼

Esther naiz. I’m Esther.

I help you start speaking Basque from zero… even if you’ve never said a word before.

Because most people don’t actually want to “learn” a language…

They want to speak it. 💚🤍❤️

And I get that… because I’ve been there.

I grew up as the daughter of Basque immigrants, but I didn’t grow up speaking Euskara fluently. I had to learn it as an adult. Step by step. Mistakes and all.

Basque is my third language. Spanish came first, then English… and later I added French too.

So I don’t just teach languages…

I’ve lived what it’s like to start from zero and work your way into actually speaking.

I’ve been teaching for 27 years… from Moses Lake to Boise to the Basque Country… and helping adults speak Basque since 2015.

Simple. Real-life speaking. One step at a time.

Because Euskara, the Basque language, is more than words.

It’s a connection.

It’s heritage.

It’s something worth keeping alive.

If you’re ready to start speaking, you’re in the right place.

This is all For the Basque.

My newsletter where we connect to Basque language, culture, & community… together. 💚🤍❤️

Weekly (weekly-ish😅), you’ll hear from me.

Sometimes it’s a story.

Sometimes it’s a word or phrase in Euskara.

Sometimes it’s something happening in the Basque world.

But it all comes back to one thing…

Staying connected to your roots and actually using the language in your real life.

Even if you’re starting from zero.

Because your Basque connection doesn’t come from studying once in a while.

It grows when you see it, hear it, and live it… a little at a time.

If you want Basque to be part of your daily life, this is a good place to start.

Kaixo lagun! 👋🏼

Ready to go beyond just learning… and actually start speaking Basque?

Here are a couple ways I can help you do that. 💚

First… the 30-day speaking challenge.

This is where you start from zero and build, day by day.

Simple words.
Real phrases.
The kind you’ll actually use.

No overwhelm. Just showing up and speaking a little every day.

And then… Basque Skool.

A space where you don’t have to figure it out alone.

You get structure, practice, and a community of people on the same journey as you.

Ask questions.
Share wins.
Accountability.
Keep going when it feels hard.

Because speaking a language doesn’t happen in isolation.

It happens when you use it… with others.

If you’re ready to start speaking and stay consistent, this is for you.

Goazen! Let’s go.
